In IVF, the egg is fertilized with sperm within a glass compartment. This is one of the most popular infertility treatments that is opted for by many couples. The eggs are removed from ovaries and stored inside a special liquid. After the fertilization the embryo is kept for about 2 to 6 days and then it is implanted into the womb.
IVF with ICSI Fertilization
The specialized IVF procedure is used in cases where repeated attempts for pregnancy through the conventional IVF method have failed or for men who suffer from extreme infertility. This is an advanced type of IVF where the sperm is directly injected into egg. The process benefits men who have abnormal shaped sperm or no sperm, or poor sperm movement. It is also advised for men who are able to produce sperm but do not ejaculate the sufficient amount required for fertilization.
